Trainee MCERTS Inspector (£22,900-£27,000)

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our small, friendly and expanding team as an Trainee MCERTS Inspector. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring compliance with environmental standards and regulations for monitoring water flow. As a Trainee Inspector, you will work closely with our senior inspector travelling around the country gaining valuable on-the-job training.
This position is perfect for you if you are over 25 years old, enjoy some travelling for work, if you have a technical mind, a manual driving licence and good IT skills. In a typical week you will spend 3 days working on site and 2 days working at home or visiting our office. Site work includes visits to all areas of industry from water treatment works to food factories and power stations. Days spent working from home will include tasks such as writing reports and various administration tasks.

We are approved by the Environment Agency to carry out MCERTS Site inspections of flow measurement structures. We work for over 100 companies, large and small across the UK although much of our work is for water companies especially Southern Water.

What will you be doing?
- Assisting the MCERTS Inspector in carrying out MCERTS inspections.
- Assisting with the production of the MCERTS reports, verification reports and other administration tasks where required.
- Keeping all the equipment clean and tidy and ensuring that everything is within the inspection date and calibration date.
- You will work both from home and also at customer sites across the UK, likely working away from home 2-3 days a week, with all hotel and travel expenses covered.
Training and Support
- You will attend formal training in Working in Confined spaces, Safe working at Heights, Emergency first aid at work, National water hygiene, Health and Safety.
- You will work closely with our MCERTS Inspector and Assistant MCERTS Inspector who will provide on the spot training throughout your duties. This experience will enable you to progress towards the end goal of becoming a qualified MCERTS Inspector.
